Welcome to my blog

I hope that you are having a good day!

I want this site to be a place where I can post what I believe God is showing me, and also be a place for testimonies of things that are happening because of God's grace all around me.

Have fun, and hope that you check out my new book!

Structured Randomness

I am setting a new goal to discipline myself to do 15 minutes a day of something that will take me toward a goal.

The three I have are: time with God in focused devotions, playing bass, and working out.

It is 15 minutes, but I am determined that as I start I will not try to create too much structure of what I focus on. It will be random activities that all progress toward the goal.

Reaching people through video

Something that came up at lunch is that video websites on the internet today are being used to be many peoples source for religious decisions. It is time that the church does what it can to provide content in these arenas not for money, but to reach others with the gospel.

Selfish no more?

I had lunch with a friend today, and a couple of statements really made me think.

The first was the topic of selfishness. Selfishness in the church is one of the biggest things that the world uses as an excuse to not want to follow Christ. This was the statement made by my friend.

Polluted Alters

As I visited a church, I watched as the congregation walked to the "alter"
and put their offering there.

It was good hearted I believe, but having gone through hard times, I have
a perspective that I believe lines up with scripture.

I believe that the alters of our churches have become polluted in the sense
of how the church today is managing the money. The message of tithing is
preached with vigor and zeal, but the message of the church giving back is
not.

To Fly

I went to the music store after church, and decided to play a bit of piano. I
set the iphone on the keyboard, and recorded! Some improv piano. Laid back feel.

...the chastisement of our peace was upon him

Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I was thinking about this scripture as I walked around the lake at Cranes Roost park. The chastisement of our
peace was upon him...I walked, and walked, and found myself meditating on the verse.

First Draft to the publisher

Well, last night I stayed up really late, working to get all of the
